Some fun collectibles for the season! Last year, the witch cat and orange kitty were sent to me as a gift from a friend in the States. Last Thanksgiving, I found the small ceramic pumpkin with a dessert in it (it is really for a votive candle) and saved it for this season. The other day, I found Halloween is now appearing in Japan (which is where I live)! I was having lunch with friends and found the two bear ghosts and pumpkin witch. Candle holders are fun and purchased all year long (to get their reflections to appear, they have burning candles inside)!

There was a craft area and an exhibition of lovely dried flowers. I had a chance to make this tile using the lovely flowers that they provided. It was such a lovely creative time.

This week passed by so quickly. I can't imagine that December is only just around the corner...

Thanksgiving Day is approaching very quickly...

The lovely colored leaves of Fall are coming to the area. Today, there is the rain that always brings out the lovely colors.

This week, Meg and I received a lovely calendar from Australia. It is amazing how many friends you can meet from all over the world on flickr.

Meg would like to introduce her new friend...

Smoggy has gone over the rainbow. He enjoyed his life and shared it with a loving Mom in Australia. Smoggy's Mom made calendars and earlier in 2006, she sent them to his furry friends overseas.

It is only just recently that Meg's Mom found out that Meg could have her own calendar of Smoggy. Last week, Smoggy's Mom sent Meg this lovely calendar. It arrived a couple days ago. When I showed it to Meg... Meg immediately gave Smoggy a kiss.

I love to collect different kinds of kitty things. In fact, I have fun because my it is always something that you can see in many different stores all over the world!

As a surprise, this was a gift from a friend. We made plans for lunch around my birthday.

My cat teapot is ready for a cup of tea!

In August, I painted this teapot while on a short trip. This is what it looked like right after I painted the decorations in underglaze. If you would like to read that story, I described it in martiancat's August 18, 2006 blog.

This is a photo showing the underglazed teapot.

Today, it arrived from Nagoya... it had to be fired in Nagoya and it was shipped to my apartment. This was the first time in 20 years that I used underglazes on porcelain. One of the biggest mysteries is how your painting turns out after it is dipped and fired.

I am so happy to say that it turned out "lovely..." Now, it is ready for me to make a cup of tea in it! I can hardly wait until tomorrow to use it...

Over the summer, I was taught how to make a lovely decorative pin.

Imagine, this is actually made out of the color pages from the Japanese newspapers. The sparkles are actually from a couple coats of glitter nail polish.

Yesterday, I went to Tokyo and bought some craft materials. I was able to enjoy eating lunch with a friend, too. It seems unbelievable that it was almost one year since we had lunch together.

This summer's heat is getting to me!
